This was the first project where we tried to envision a functional furniture object as a sculpture.
The form of the centre table was envisioned as a slender plane connecting a rectangle and a cylinder. The rectangular form enabled us to place drawers easily while the cylinder became a complex assembly of various trays that would slide out of the cylinder and fall back into place. We had to add a slender cylinder which became the pivot arm for these trays and succinctly completed the visual.
The top surface was a pattern in solid wood with subtle tonal variations.
