We signed this project at a time when we were exploring sculptural forms as functional pieces.

Most pieces were designed as stand-alone pieces with their own stories, but we kept the material palette limited to create a cohesive language for the whole project. There were a lot of abstract ideas that we tried to put into functional objects.

Abstract ideas like the ten shapes of Ravan overlaying Corbusian curves, cantilevered slabs over brass boulders, the large concrete spoon is your-basin-over-your-crockery-store, the sofa that doesn’t need a console because it acts as one as well; are some arguments we used to define the objects we created.

By deconstructing the elements of a sofa and putting them together as parts that function differently yet as a holistic unit, we tried to reimagine seating. A base plate connects the sofa to the inbuilt side tables, the back rests of which are suspended on another member with pipes that extend to become sculptural units, are few of the explorations we made.

In order to create a balanced visual for this project, the abstract artistic themes were balanced out by functional and minimal pieces thus creating a back and forth between dynamic fluidity and static balance.
